iTrust Human Capital Management are seeking experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our network for upcoming projects. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Department of Defense (DOD) information security practices and will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's information systems.
 
Security Clearance Requirement:
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Information System Security: Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses. Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs). Ensure compliance with DOD security regulations and directives.
  • Incident Response and Management: Lead incident response efforts for security breaches or suspected compromises. Conduct thorough investigations and provide detailed reports. Develop and maintain incident response plans.
  • Security Controls: Implement and monitor security controls as defined by NIST SP 800-53. Perform continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  • Certification and Accreditation: Manage the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for information systems. Prepare and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and conduct security awareness training for all personnel. Provide specialized training for IT staff on security best practices.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with IT teams to integrate security into system development and operations. Provide regular security posture reports to management. Liaise with external auditors and inspectors during security reviews.
Qualifications:
 
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ISSO or similar role within the DOD environment. Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of DOD security policies, including DISA STIGs and RMF. Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 security controls. Experience with security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and SCCM. Understanding of network security architectures and protocols.
 
Certifications:  Sec+, A+ CISSP, CISM, or equivalent information security certification required. DOD 8570.01-M IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP-ISSEP) preferred.
 
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
